Rice Collection, Inventory and Sales Trends, June 2026

The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries published the collection and sales status by production area and trends in private inventories for the 2025 rice crop as of the end of June 2026, along with sales volumes and prices among rice distributors in June 2026.

The published content consists of three items: the collection and sales status of the 2025 rice crop by production area, trends in private inventories, and trends in sales volumes and prices among rice distributors.

The collection, contract and sales status covers nonglutinous rice from the 2025 crop, based on reports from rice shippers, sellers and organizations, and is organized as the nationwide cumulative total as of the end of June 2026.

Private inventories totaled 1.94 million brown-rice tonnes at the shipping and sales stages combined, comprising 1.42 million brown-rice tonnes at the shipping stage and 510,000 brown-rice tonnes at the sales stage; the year-on-year differences were +720,000, +580,000 and +140,000 brown-rice tonnes, respectively.

Sales volumes and prices were indexed for polished rice sold by rice distributors and include government rice reserves sold. Sales volumes were 94.7% overall, 93.7% for retailers and 96.0% for prepared-food and food-service businesses. Sales prices were 101.4% for retailers and 116.9% for prepared-food and food-service businesses.

It provides information on supply, demand and prices related to rice distribution, sales progress and inventory information, among other data.
