Fertilizer Stockpiling Plan Certified Under Economic Security Law

The Economic Security Promotion Act establishes a system to certify and support supply assurance plans submitted by private businesses working to secure stable supplies of specified critical products essential to the public's survival or widely relied upon in daily life and economic activity. Fertilizer is one of these specified critical products, and the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries is promoting stockpiling of fertilizer raw materials.

This is the fifth certification, and 12 supply assurance plans have been certified through four rounds of public solicitation to date.

As a result of this certification, Sun Agro Co., Ltd. will be eligible to receive storage fee subsidies for stockpiling fertilizer raw materials from the Fertilizer Economics Research Institute, a general incorporated foundation designated as an organization supporting stable supply.

1. Certification of the supply assurance plan: The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries reviewed Sun Agro Co., Ltd.'s application and determined that it meets the statutory requirements for ensuring a stable fertilizer supply. Following a review under Article 9, Paragraph 4 of the Economic Security Promotion Act, the plan was certified effective October 23, 2026, under Paragraph 1 of the same article.

2. Plan overview: The table lists No. 13; the business operator is Sun Agro Co., Ltd.; the fertilizer raw material to be stockpiled is ammonium phosphate; and facility development is listed as “None.”
