Overview
The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism and NASVA (National Agency for Automotive Safety and Victims’ Aid) announced the test results for Suzuki’s e Vitara under the Automobile Assessment program, which evaluates and publishes vehicle safety performance.
Details
Starting in fiscal 2026, the assessment introduced new scenario evaluations for collision damage mitigation braking for intersection accidents, including right-turn-across-path scenarios involving motorcycles, as well as an evaluation of automatic emergency notification devices for rear-seat occupants. Scoring was also revised to reflect the changes to the assessment. In addition, information on child occupants in new offset frontal collisions is now provided, with results published on NASVA’s assessment results page.
According to Suzuki, standard preventive safety equipment on all vehicles includes intersection braking that detects bicycles and motorcycles, lane departure suppression that detects road edges, adaptive high beams, low-speed braking support when moving forward or backward, and prevention of unintended acceleration. Crash safety features include the lightweight impact-absorbing TECT body, various SRS airbags, including a driver’s knee airbag, and a body designed to reduce pedestrian injuries.
All vehicles are equipped with an automatic emergency notification function that connects to an operator when a major impact is detected. A Suzuki Connect subscription is required to use the service.
