Details
“Trunk routes” connect New Chitose, Tokyo (Haneda), Tokyo (Narita), Osaka, Kansai, Fukuoka, and Okinawa (Naha) airports with one another; “local routes” are all other routes.
International results cover transport on international routes operated by Japanese air carriers. Passenger numbers and cargo volumes by airport in Japan, including those of foreign carriers, are compiled and published in the “Airport Usage Overview Tables” prepared by the Tokyo and Osaka Regional Civil Aviation Bureaus.
Cargo volumes exclude excess baggage and mail. For details, consult the “Air Transport Statistics Annual Report”; when reproducing statistical figures, the report should be cited as the source.
