2025-Produced Rice Relative Prices and Volumes (June 2026)

The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries compiled and released the relative transaction prices and volumes for rice produced in 2025 for June 2026. The figures are based on reports from rice shipping and sales businesses, organizations, and others, while prices and volumes by production area and variety are provided in the attached materials.

The compiled results showed an average price across all varieties of 31,305 yen per 60 kg of brown rice and a total relative transaction volume across all varieties of 90,000 tonnes.

As part of a review of rice policy, efforts are being made to create an environment in which producers and rice collectors and organizations can produce rice in response to demand, based on proactive management decisions and sales strategies. As part of these efforts, this release provides information on rice distribution, including supply and demand, prices, sales progress, and inventories.

The price for each production-area, variety, and brand designation is the weighted average of the price of first-grade rice under relative transaction contracts, including freight, packaging costs, and consumption tax. The volume is the total quantity under those contracts.
