The Japan Institute for Labour Policy and Training (JILPT) reported on measures to promote social insurance enrollment for small and medium enterprises in Vietnam as overseas labor information.
The Vietnamese government positions improving social insurance enrollment rates among small and medium enterprises as an important policy issue, and it is reported that new measures are being considered to promote worker participation in social security systems. Currently, social insurance enrollment rates are lower in small and medium enterprises compared to large companies, and the government is considering countermeasures including simplification of enrollment procedures, reduction measures for insurance premium burdens, and strengthening guidance and support systems for companies.
Specific promotion measures under consideration include introduction of social insurance premium reduction systems for small and medium enterprises, simplification of enrollment procedures through digitalization, and development of phased application systems according to company size. Additionally, strengthening guidance by labor inspection agencies is planned alongside enhancement of awareness activities and consultation support systems for companies.
This measure aims to enhance inclusiveness of Vietnamese workers in social security systems and ensure sustainability of social insurance systems, holding important significance as a response to labor market changes accompanying economic development.
The article shows that Vietnam is considering social insurance policies that take into account the actual conditions of small and medium enterprises to achieve both economic growth and expansion of social security systems, aiming to improve worker social security and stabilize systems.
