The National Institute for Educational Policy Research published the results of the 2024 longitudinal analysis survey and parent survey. The longitudinal analysis survey was conducted among 600 elementary schools and 750 junior high schools selected through stratified cluster sampling to understand and analyze changes in national academic achievement over time.
The survey was conducted from May 13 to June 28, 2024, including subject-related surveys (Japanese, Mathematics/Arithmetic, English) and parent surveys. It was implemented in both PBT (paper-based testing) and CBT (computer-based testing) formats, with survey times of 40 minutes for elementary schools and 45 minutes for junior high schools.
The parent survey examined the relationship between family circumstances and student academic achievement by investigating parents' educational attitudes. Survey results are compiled as overview versions, highlight versions, implementation result reports, and technical reports, utilized for verification and improvement of educational policies.
