Overview
The Telecommunications Business Policy Subcommittee of the Information and Communications Council prepared a draft third report on the basic telecommunications service system in connection with the introduction of last-resort provision responsibilities, concerning Consultation No. 1242 dated July 4, 2025. The Subcommittee chair is Yosuke Okada, professor at Seijo University’s Faculty of Social Innovation.
The Subcommittee invited comments on the draft from July 22, 2026, through August 25, 2026. After the consultation period ended, it announced the number of comments received and presented the submitted comments together with the Subcommittee’s views on them.
