Overview
The Family Doctor Function Reporting System was established following amendments to the Medical Care Act under the Act to Partially Amend the Health Insurance Act and Other Laws, enacted and promulgated in May 2023, and took effect in April 2025. The amending law is the Act on Partial Revision of the Health Insurance Act and Other Laws to Establish a Sustainable Social Security System for All Generations (Act No. 31 of 2023).
The system aims to enhance and strengthen family doctor functions needed in local communities and improve medical services for the public by providing information that helps people choose medical institutions.
