Inspections were conducted at 7,620 of 8,073 hospitals, for an implementation rate of 94.4%. Regarding the number of healthcare professionals compared with the standard numbers under the Medical Care Act, the compliance rates for physicians and pharmacists were unchanged from the previous fiscal year, while the compliance rate for nurses and assistant nurses decreased by 0.1%.

In fiscal 2024, on-site inspections were conducted at 7,620 of 8,073 hospitals. In the previous fiscal year, inspections were conducted at 7,587 of 8,138 hospitals, for an implementation rate of 93.2%. The compliance rate is the proportion of hospitals that complied with the inspection items among the hospitals inspected on site.
For healthcare professional numbers, compliance rates with the standard numbers under the Medical Care Act were compiled separately for physicians, nurses and assistant nurses, and pharmacists. Nurses include public health nurses and midwives who primarily perform nursing duties.
The physician compliance rate was unchanged from fiscal 2023, and the pharmacist compliance rate was also unchanged. Meanwhile, the compliance rate for nurses and assistant nurses decreased by 0.1% from fiscal 2023.
