Overview

Overview
The Chief Cabinet Secretary explained that Prime Minister Takaichi had decided to reshuffle the Cabinet. Minoru Kihara would continue to serve as Chief Cabinet Secretary and take charge of reducing the burden of U.S. military bases in Okinawa and the abductions issue. Yusuke Nakanishi was introduced as the new Deputy Chief Cabinet Secretary, while Masanao Ozaki and Yasuhiro Tsuyuki would remain in office.
The ministerial roster for the Second Takaichi Reshuffled Cabinet, as well as the appointments of the Deputy Chief Cabinet Secretaries, the Director-General of the Cabinet Legislation Bureau, and the Special Advisers to the Prime Minister, was also released.

The ministerial roster listed Hisayuki Fujii as Minister for Internal Affairs and Communications, Takashi Yamashita as Minister of Justice, Yoshihiro Seki as Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, Kazuo Yanagi as Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, Tatsunori Ibayashi as Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, and Hiroyoshi Sasagawa as Minister of the Environment. Kenichiro Ueno would remain Minister of Health, Labour and Welfare, while Toshimitsu Motegi as Minister for Foreign Affairs, Satsuki Katayama as Minister of Finance, Ryosei Akazawa as Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry, and Shinjiro Koizumi as Minister of Defense, among others, would also remain in office.
The assignments of ministers responsible for digital affairs, reconstruction, national public safety, child policies, economic and fiscal policy, and economic security, among other areas, as well as responsibilities for AI and digital transformation, GX, regional future strategies, disaster management, national resilience, and measures to address the declining birthrate, were announced. The Deputy Chief Cabinet Secretaries were Masanao Ozaki, Yusuke Nakanishi, and Yasuhiro Tsuyuki, and the Director-General of the Cabinet Legislation Bureau was Nobuyuki Iwao; the information also included officials who would remain in office.
The newly appointed Special Advisers to the Prime Minister were Kenji Wakamiya, responsible for national security, nuclear disarmament, and other matters; Hajime Sasaki, responsible for regional future strategies; and Hisashi Matsumoto, responsible for measures addressing rising prices and other matters. Special Advisers Endo and Uno would remain in office, and the roster would be distributed later.
