Overview
Following confirmation by the leaders of the two countries during Prime Minister Takaichi's visit to Australia in May 2026 that a dialogue on food security would be held, the inaugural dialogue took place on September 15, 2026.
The dialogue was hosted by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries of Japan and Australia's Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry, and a joint statement on launching the dialogue was issued.
