The applicable period is from October 2026 onward.

The government sale price was calculated based on the average purchase price over the most recent six months. The weighted average price including tax for five wheat varieties rose from 62,520 yen per tonne in the April 2026 period to 70,020 yen per tonne in the October 2026 period, an increase of 12.0% from the previous period.
The five wheat varieties are Canadian Western Red Spring (1CW, mainly for bread), American Dark Northern Spring (DNS, mainly for bread and Chinese noodles), American Hard Red Winter (HRW, mainly for bread and Chinese noodles), Australian Standard White (ASW, mainly for Japanese noodles), and American Western White (WW, mainly for confectionery).
