Overview
On September 1, 2026, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism announced that it had deliberated on “Aviation Transport Safety Information for FY2025” and other matters at the 39th Aviation Safety Information Analysis Committee meeting held on June 16, and had compiled the results.
The committee received reports on recent developments concerning aviation safety and safety improvement initiatives, and evaluated and analyzed the safety information reported for FY2025.

Details
Under Article 111-4 of the Civil Aeronautics Act, air transport operators must report to the Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism situations that could adversely affect the safe operation of aircraft.
Under Article 111-5 of the same Act, the Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism organizes and publishes information concerning the safety of air transport every fiscal year.
The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism holds the committee, in principle, every six months to appropriately analyze and publish the reported safety information.
Safety information refers to information concerning aviation accidents, serious incidents, and other situations that could adversely affect safety. At this meeting, the Civil Aviation Bureau reported on recent developments and initiatives, and evaluated and analyzed the information for FY2025.
