Vice-Minister Yamada Meets Chilean Foreign Minister

On August 27, 2026, Vice-Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Yamada met with Francisco Pérez Mackenna, Foreign Minister of the Republic of Chile. Vice-Minister Yamada welcomed his visit to Japan and explained the contributions of Japanese companies to Chile and the initiatives of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry.

At the meeting, they exchanged views on further strengthening future bilateral economic relations across a wide range of fields, including the minerals and resource energy sector.

They agreed to continue deepening their cooperation in order to further strengthen bilateral economic relations through the promotion of trade and investment.

The exchange of views addressed potential cooperation in a wide range of fields, including the minerals and resource energy sector.

Vice-Minister Yamada explained the initiatives of Japanese companies and the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, and both sides shared recognition of the importance of cooperation to promote trade and investment.
