Handling the 2026 Q2 Survey After the Noto Peninsula Earthquake

The Ministry of Finance notice explains how the April-June 2026 Corporate Enterprise Statistics Survey will be published and tabulated. The notice at the top of the page states “2026 Noto Peninsula Earthquake,” while the heading and body state “2026 Kumamoto Earthquake.”

The original deadline for submitting survey forms for this period was August 10, 2026. Following the enforcement of a Cabinet Order concerning the Kumamoto Earthquake, procedures for affected corporations were announced.

Corporations affected by the Kumamoto Earthquake were allowed to submit their survey forms by November 27, 2026. The extended submission deadline applies to affected corporations.

Even after the submission deadline was extended, the Corporate Enterprise Statistics Survey will continue to use survey forms collected by the time of publication, as before. National average values will be calculated by industry and capital tier from the survey forms, and estimates will be made based on those national average values. The stated legal basis for these procedures is the enforcement of the “Cabinet Order on the Designation of Specified Disasters and Measures to Be Applied to the 2026 Kumamoto Earthquake Disaster” (2026 Cabinet Order No. 260).
