Provisional Anti-Dumping Duties on Steel from Korea and China

The products covered are hot-dip galvanized steel strip and sheet originating in the Republic of Korea and the People's Republic of China, excluding the Hong Kong and Macao regions. These steel products have a hot-dip galvanized surface for rust prevention and are used mainly as materials for construction products and electrical equipment components.

An investigation was conducted in response to an application seeking the imposition of anti-dumping duties, and it was determined that there were sufficient grounds to presume the importation of dumped goods and material injury caused by those imports to the domestic industry.

The provisional duties will be imposed to protect the domestic industry.

The decree is scheduled to be promulgated on August 7, 2026, and provisional anti-dumping duties will be imposed on the subject steel products originating in the Republic of Korea and China from the following day through December 7, 2026.

The Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry conducted a joint investigation from August 13, 2025, to determine whether anti-dumping duties should be imposed. On July 24, 2026, they decided that there were sufficient grounds to presume dumped imports and material injury to the domestic industry.

On July 30, 2026, the Special Tariff Subcommittee of the Tariff Section of the Customs and Foreign Exchange Council submitted an advisory opinion stating that it was appropriate to impose provisional anti-dumping duties on the subject steel products.
