IP Protection in the Digital Age The construction of IP systems corresponding to new technologies is examined as a priority issue, including strengthening patent and copyright protection for digital technologies such as AI, IoT, and big data, establishing trade secret management systems, and countermeasures against intellectual property infringement in cyberspace. Specific guidelines are particularly proposed for IP strategies in international standardization activities and IP management in joint research in the open innovation era.
Promoting SME IP Utilization Support measures are examined to promote the creation, protection, and utilization of intellectual property in SMEs, including enhancement of patent application support, development of IP human resources, and expansion of IP finance utilization. Additionally, the construction of an intellectual property ecosystem for innovation creation is emphasized, including strengthening cooperation with universities and research institutions, facilitating technology transfer, and supporting IP strategies for startup companies, with expectations for contributing to improving Japan's technological competitiveness.
