This report summarizes the results of the explosives accident prevention measures and explosives internationalization measures project conducted by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry in FY 2024, with Volume 1 detailing the explosives accident prevention measures project.
Since the damage from explosives accidents is enormous when they occur, prevention is extremely important. This project conducted detailed analysis of past accident cases, identification of accident factors, and examination of effective prevention measures.
The report comprehensively examined explosives accident trend analysis, technical measures for accident prevention, improvement of safety management systems, enhancement of employee education and training, and establishment of emergency response procedures.
Survey results confirmed a tendency for many accidents due to human factors, reaffirming the importance of improving safety awareness, standardizing work procedures, and implementing regular safety inspections. Additionally, the necessity of introducing safety monitoring systems utilizing new technologies and constructing industry-wide safety information sharing systems was also pointed out.
The results of this report are expected to be utilized as important reference materials for improving safety measures of explosives handling businesses and improving related laws and regulations.
