The Agency for Natural Resources and Energy reported on the national electricity supply and demand situation as of August 1, 2025.
Detailed analysis has been conducted on electricity supply and demand balance and stable supply assurance conditions nationwide as the summer electricity demand peak period arrives. Comprehensive supply and demand outlook is shown considering increased cooling demand due to rising temperatures, expanded electricity consumption from industrial activity recovery, and supply fluctuations from renewable energy sources.
Comprehensive examination is reported on stable electricity supply maintenance efforts including nationwide demand-supply adjustment in cooperation with the Organization for Cross-regional Coordination of Transmission Operators, inter-regional electricity interchange systems, and emergency demand-supply tightening response preparations. Particularly, priority implementation includes securing adjustment capacity corresponding to renewable energy output fluctuations, appropriate thermal power plant operation adjustments, and demand adjustment implementation through cooperation with consumers.
