Overview
As digital technology supports society and the economy as a whole, IPA is evolving beyond merely promoting information technology into a “co-creation platform” that connects AI, data, cybersecurity, talent, institutions, strategic technologies, and other areas to drive their implementation in society. In June 2026, it established a new English name, “Innovation Platform Agency, Japan,” and the tagline “Beyond Digital.”
As a place to experience this role, IPA will exhibit at CEATEC 2026 at Makuhari Messe from October 13 to 16, 2026. Its booth is number 6H111, next to the T Stage in X (Transformation) Park. The venue address is 2-1 Nakase, Mihama-ku, Chiba City.
Details
The exhibition theme, “PROTOCOL ENGINE,” represents IPA’s role in envisioning the society beyond one built on digital technology and in connecting diverse perspectives to jointly design and implement social infrastructure. When booth visitors answer a technology survey on a device, lines of light rise in real time and shine as vivid shapes on a circular 360° LED display overhead. This depicts how individual voices are gathered and structured, then shared throughout the venue, expressing how each person’s choices shape the systems of society.
At the special event “Technology: A Right-Brain and Left-Brain Dialogue” on October 13, Jiro Kunihiro and Keiichiro Shibuya will discuss the future of art and embodiment in a digital society. On October 15, IPA executives will speak on a society built around AI and digital talent. On October 16, IPA President Yutaka Saito will explore a path toward implementing industrial AX in Japan. Throughout the event, Tsuda Michitaka and others will give mini-stage talks inside the booth on topics including security, data, and digital skills.
The JC-STAR exhibit will be held in the DX Pavilion for Everyday Life, at booth 5H314-02. Through hacking demonstrations and displays of certified products, IPA will explain the scheme’s significance and share the latest developments and outlook for the new “★2” criteria and the secure, reassuring smart home society they envision.
