2026 Awards for Contributions to Nutrition

The Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare selected and announced 65 individuals and 17 facilities for its 2026 ministerial awards in nutrition. Overview
The Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare selected and announced the recipients of its 2026 ministerial awards for contributions to nutrition. Eligible recipients are people recognized for particularly significant contributions over many years to improving nutrition, and outstanding designated food service facilities considered exemplary.
Details
The award categories are contributions to nutrition improvement programs, contributions to the training of dietitians, contributions to nutrition guidance services, and designated food service facilities. Eligible individuals include those with significant achievements in promoting and advancing nutrition improvement programs, developing the dietitian and registered dietitian systems, or cooperating with nutrition administration; founders, facility directors, and faculty or staff of training institutions with significant achievements in training; and licensed dietitians who work on the front lines of nutrition guidance and have a notable record of activity as dietitians. Designated food service facilities must have particularly excellent food service management and operations and be suitable as models for others.
The recipients comprise 6 people for contributions to nutrition improvement programs, 21 for contributions to dietitian training, 38 for contributions to nutrition guidance services, and 17 designated food service facilities.
The ceremony will be held at Cosmos Hall on the third floor of the Urban Center Hotel, 2-4-1 Hirakawacho, Chiyoda City, Tokyo, as part of the 2026 National Nutrition Improvement Conference.
