The survey aims to determine the market size and trends of building renovation and renewal projects. Dated September 10, 2026, the current survey results concerning projects received as prime contractor during the first quarter of fiscal year 2026 have been compiled.

This survey was conducted among 5,000 licensed construction contractors. The projects covered were building renovation and renewal projects received as prime contractor during the first quarter of fiscal year 2026. The results were compiled by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism. Appreciation is also expressed for the cooperation of the surveyed contractors in preparing the report.
Beginning with the fiscal year 2018 survey, the survey and publication cycles were changed from the previous semiannual schedule to a quarterly schedule. In addition, beginning with the fiscal year 2019 survey, further acceleration of publication timing has been pursued.
