FY2026 Certification Results for Math, Data Science, and AI Programs

Under the system established by the Cabinet Office, the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, and the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology certified fiscal year 2026 education programs and selected pioneering programs with original innovations and distinctive features from among the certified programs.

The system covers regular courses at universities and other institutions that systematically teach knowledge and skills related to mathematics, data science, and AI.

The system encourages students to develop interest in mathematics, data science, and AI, as well as literacy-level foundational abilities and applied basic-level practical abilities for solving problems.

Through certification and selection, the system aims to help expand opportunities to improve foundational and practical abilities related to mathematics, data science, and AI.

Under the system, the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology certifies, selects, and encourages education programs. Eligible programs are regular courses at universities and other institutions that systematically address knowledge and skills in mathematics, data science, and AI.

For fiscal year 2026, eligible schools were invited to apply, and the Mathematics, Data Science, and AI Education Program Certification System Review Committee conducted the review. The certification categories were the literacy level and applied basic level; in addition, pioneering education programs with original innovations and distinctive features were selected as Applied Basic Level Plus programs.
