52nd Eco-Rail Mark Company Certifications

The Eco-Rail Mark system certifies products or companies that use environmentally friendly freight railway transportation above a certain threshold and provides consumers with criteria for evaluation through the display of the mark. At the 52nd Eco-Rail Mark Management and Review Committee meeting, the certification of four new supporting companies was decided. The committee chair is Hirohito Kuse, Professor Emeritus at Tokyo University of Marine Science and Technology, and the secretariat is the Public Interest Incorporated Association Railway Freight Association.

Displaying the mark provides consumers with criteria for evaluating products and companies. The system also aims to make consumers aware, through products and other items bearing the mark, that companies contribute to global environmental issues during distribution, thereby promoting companies' modal shift toward freight railway transportation.

The newly certified supporting companies are Fukuka Tsuun Co., Ltd., JR Freight Niigata Logistics Co., Ltd., Hachinohe Tsuun Co., Ltd., and Komatsu Logistics Co., Ltd.

Supporting companies are companies involved in the transportation and distribution of Eco-Rail Mark-certified products or participating companies, as well as other companies deemed appropriate by the Management and Review Committee in light of the system's objectives.
