MLIT Revises Civil Works Decarbonization Action Plan

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism announced on July 31, 2026, a revision to the Decarbonization Action Plan released in April 2025, based on the latest implementation status. The revision sets out, among other measures, the addition of a new steel materials roadmap.

This action plan was established in light of revisions to government plans, including amendments to the Act on Promoting Quality Assurance in Public Works and the Global Warming Countermeasures Plan.

By pursuing advanced decarbonization efforts in directly managed civil works ordered by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, the plan will lead initiatives at construction sites, including works carried out by local governments and others.

This action plan establishes roadmaps for leading measures aligned with the processes of CO2 emissions in civil works such as roads and flood control projects ordered by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism. It advances initiatives toward decarbonization in the covered works.
