Government Certifies Private Regional Management Entities

Population decline, a declining birthrate, and an aging population are raising concerns about the decline or loss of essential living services that support daily life. Forming regional living areas capable of providing services necessary for daily life on a sustainable basis has become important.

Private regional management entities are regarded as key players that use human resources, information, and know-how to connect various stakeholders inside and outside the region and manage the region as a whole while resolving regional issues.

Certification is expected to confer credibility and trust within the region on private regional management entities. Certified regional support officers will introduce relevant support measures and provide advice, providing a system that strongly supports efforts to resolve regional issues.

The Director-General of the National Land Policy Bureau will certify entities that have the intention and plans to work on forming regional living areas over the medium to long term. Applications for certification are scheduled to open this autumn, and the specific schedule, including the application opening date and application period, will be announced separately.

Certified regional support officers of the National Land Policy Bureau will introduce relevant support measures through a one-stop service and provide advice. Pre-application consultations are accepted at any time.
