May Preliminary Domestic and International Air Transport Statistics

The preliminary figures for May, released on July 29, 2026, show passenger and freight transport volumes, year-on-year changes, passenger load factors, and weight load factors for domestic scheduled aviation and international aviation.

Domestic scheduled aviation passenger transport volume was 9,390 thousand people and 8,869,957 thousand passenger-kilometres, with year-on-year increases of 3.5% and 4.1%, respectively. The passenger load factor was 79.1%. Freight transport volume was 45,461 (53,918) tonnes and 50,569 (59,708) thousand tonne-kilometres, with year-on-year decreases of 7.2% (6.2%) and 5.3% (4.6%), respectively. The weight load factor was 55.0%.

International aviation passenger transport volume was 1,990 thousand people and 9,726,923 thousand passenger-kilometres, with year-on-year increases of 6.1% and 5.0%, respectively. The passenger load factor was 84.9%. Freight transport volume was 141,409 (146,121) tonnes and 799,412 (815,826) thousand tonne-kilometres, with year-on-year increases of 9.0% (9.0%) and 11.1% (10.7%), respectively. The weight load factor was 72%. Figures in parentheses include excess baggage and mail.
