Customs Intellectual Property Rights Infringement Seizures in First Half of 2025 - 17,249 Cases at High Level

Ministry of Finance announced customs intellectual property infringement seizure statistics for first half of 2025. Import seizure cases totaled 17,249, down 5.6% year-on-year but exceeding 15,000 for third consecutive year. Seizure quantity reached 416,531 items, down 43.5% but exceeding 400,000 for fifth consecutive year. By origin, China accounted for 84.3% (14,548 cases), followed by Vietnam 9.0% and Hong Kong 1.4%. Health and safety threatening products including electrical batteries, household water purifier cartridges, and automotive accessories continued to be major seizure categories. Electrical product seizures totaled 28,847 items, highest by category and up 31.4% year-on-year, demonstrating continued strengthening of intellectual property protection efforts.
