Survey Research Project on Understanding the Actual Conditions of Work-Life Balance for Childcare - FY2023 MHLW Commissioned Project

This document presents the results of a survey research project on understanding the actual conditions of work-life balance for childcare, conducted by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare in fiscal year 2023. Through two reports covering corporate surveys and worker surveys, it provides detailed analysis of the current situation and challenges regarding work-childcare balance. Managed by the Work-Life Balance Division of the Employment Environment and Equal Employment Bureau, this research captures the actual conditions of balance support from both corporate and worker perspectives, providing fundamental data for future policy formulation. The survey results are published as executive summaries in the Corporate Survey Report (22.3MB) and Worker Survey Report (37.6MB), containing detailed data and analysis on specific challenges and the effectiveness of support measures regarding childcare-work balance. Positioned as an important basic survey for the government's work-style reform promotion, this serves as crucial material indicating the direction of future childcare support policies.
