He introduced achievements including the Green Legacy Initiative with 48 billion trees planted over seven years and the construction of the Grand Renaissance Dam supplying 5,000 megawatts (MW) of renewable energy, positioning the dam as "a symbol of continental unity, independence, and environmentally conscious future."
【New Climate Innovation Agreement】 The Prime Minister proposed establishing the Africa Climate Innovation Agreement (ACIC), announcing goals to create 1,000 Africa-originated climate solutions and mobilize billion annually by 2030. He also announced Ethiopia's candidacy to host the 32nd Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP32) in 2027.
【Climate Finance Discussions】 AU Commission Chairperson Mahmoud Ali Yusuf noted that "Africa accounts for less than 4% of global GHG emissions but suffers the most severe impacts of climate change," calling for appropriate and stable climate finance. The summit featured announcements including the African Development Bank (AfDB) and African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank)'s commitment of billion to the Africa Green Industrialization Initiative (AGII), with the "Addis Ababa Declaration" adopted on the final day.
