This survey is a detailed thematic analysis of the results of an awareness survey on social collaboration activities conducted by National Museums targeting art museums nationwide. The survey targets public and private art museums nationwide, comprehensively analyzing the current state and future directions of art museums' social roles from perspectives including regional community collaboration, educational outreach activities, cooperation with welfare and medical fields, multicultural coexistence initiatives, and digital technology utilization.
The article points out the necessity for art museums to develop as important cultural infrastructure bearing diverse social roles including social collaboration, education, and welfare in addition to traditional collection, preservation, and exhibition functions.
