Top consultation topics were 'Virus Detection False Warnings' with 912 cases (31.0%), followed by 'Unauthorized Login' 267 cases (9.1%), 'Phishing' 126 cases (4.3%), cryptocurrency extortion emails 38 cases (1.3%), and 'One-Click Fraud' 14 cases (0.5%).
Notable trends include a significant decrease in 'Virus Detection False Warnings' consultations after police action in May 2025. Meanwhile, unauthorized login consultations increased slightly, and phishing attempts targeting various services continued.
Specific cases reported include remote access scams attempting to steal banking information and phishing emails impersonating financial institutions leading to stock portfolio manipulation. IPA recommends avoiding suspicious links, using multi-factor authentication, regularly changing passwords, being cautious of unsolicited remote access requests, and verifying communications through official channels.
