Cabinet Reshuffle Implementation Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto dismissed five ministers including Finance Minister Sri Mulyani on September 8, and appointed four ministers and one deputy minister, including the newly established Ministry of Hajj's top and deputy ministers, based on Presidential Decision No. 86/P of 2025. - Minister of Cooperatives: Ferry Joko Yulianto
- Minister of Hajj: Mohamad Irwan Yusuf
- Deputy Minister of Hajj: Dahnil Anzar Simanjuntak
The departures of Budi Gunawan, Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs, and Dito Ariotedjo, Minister of Youth and Sports, were also announced.
Key Points of Finance Minister Change Sri Mulyani Indrawati, who had long been responsible for fiscal management, stepped down, and economist Purbayu Yudhi Sadewa, who has practical experience at the Deposit Insurance Corporation (LPS), took office.
In a post-inauguration press conference, Purbayu stated that policy continuation and improvement would be his basic policy direction, expressing his intention to first raise the GDP growth rate to about 6%, then achieve 8% growth within 2-3 years. He explicitly stated that the debt-to-GDP ratio would be maintained at about 39%, and the fiscal deficit would be kept below 3% of GDP.
Establishment of New Ministry of Hajj The Ministry of Hajj was newly established as an independent entity from the Ministry of Religious Affairs, specializing in matters related to Hajj (major pilgrimage) and Umrah (minor pilgrimage). For Indonesia, which has the world's largest Muslim population, improving services for pilgrims and streamlining management systems are important issues, and the establishment of the new ministry aims to strengthen responses to these challenges.
