This report explains the vegetable retail price survey results for July 2025 conducted by the Agriculture & Livestock Industries Corporation.
Among the 15 surveyed items, 6 items decreased in price compared to the previous month: packaged shredded cabbage (98% of previous month), white onion (99%), onion (96%), broccoli (99%), daikon radish (97%), and potato (81%). Meanwhile, 10 items increased in price: cabbage (102% of previous month), green onion (114%), Chinese cabbage (110%), spinach (121%), lettuce (107%), cucumber (107%), tomato (103%), eggplant (104%), bell pepper (113%), and carrot (112%).
Compared to the average year, only cabbage (93% of average year) decreased in price, while 13 items increased. Items with particularly large increases were daikon radish (123% of average year), carrot (123%), bell pepper (120%), spinach (115%), cucumber (114%), Chinese cabbage (114%), tomato (113%), white onion (108%), onion (109%), lettuce (110%), eggplant (111%), green onion (111%), and potato (101%). The survey was conducted on July 11, 2025, targeting retail prices in 9 cities nationwide (Sapporo, Sendai, Tokyo 23 wards, Kanazawa, Nagoya, Osaka, Hiroshima, Takamatsu, and Fukuoka).
