The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications compiled and published survey results on the Hometown Tax Donation System on July 31, 2025. This survey was conducted targeting local governments nationwide to understand the implementation status and challenges of the Hometown Tax Donation System.
The survey results provide detailed analysis of trends in donation amounts and numbers for hometown tax donations, return gift provision status, and challenges in system operation. Particular focus was placed on surveying initiatives toward suppressing excessive return gift competition and ensuring appropriate system operation.
The Self-Government Tax Affairs Bureau Municipal Tax Division of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications was responsible for the survey, which will be utilized as foundational material for promoting healthy development and appropriate operation of the Hometown Tax Donation System in local governments. These survey results are expected to play an important role in formulating future system improvement and operational guidance policies.
